An interesting story by YV Rajesh, who was written several stories for VK Prakash, The Power of Silence liberally borrows from many popular hollywood movies. Mammootty plays Aravindan a leading attorney who gets nominated as a judge at the high court.
However, a fatal flaw he inadvertently makes in his last criminal case comes back to haunt him, affecting his day to day life and family's well being. Basil Joseph as the antagonist gives a measured performance as a schizophrenic murderer. Aparna Nair as Liji is wonderful in the limited frames she appear.
Mammootty is totally miscast as Aravindan, and comes across quite awkward in a role after decades. So is Anoop Menon as his friend police officer and Pallavi Purohit as the wife of Aravindan. This could go down as one of the worst attempts of the legendary star in recent memory despite a storyline with possibilities and abundance of talent from the supporting crew behind and in front of the camera.
